Bob Jones Park – Southlake, Texas

Bob Jones Park has evolved into a series of purchases and land leased to the city by the Corps of Engineers. The park now totals nearly 500 acres, most of which are native Cross Timbers habitats. The first major construction at the park involved the completion of 13 soccer fields (several subsequently lighted) and parking, followed by support facilities. The park also hosts a 6-acre pond with a pavilion that offers a first-class fishing area. On the far north drive entrance, an equestrian parking lot houses trailer parking, corral pens, hitching posts, a picnic area, and a ranch faucet.

Over the past few years, new improvements such as the fully lighted Girls’ Softball Complex, which also includes support facilities, a covered playground, and an additional pond were added to the park. Boo Boo’s Buddies Dog Park, which sits on about 2.5 acres east of the Girls’ Softball Complex, was added in 2006. In April of 2008 the Bob Jones Nature Center and Preserve opened. In just a short time the Center and Preserve have established itself as the premier place to enjoy the beauty of Southlake’s natural habitat.

The park consists of 6 acres of ponds for fishing purposes. It also consists of thirteen soccer fields and parking. On the far north side of this park, corral pens, hitching posts, trailer parking, and a ranch faucet are present. Here there are a lot of facilities like the Grills, BBQ and the fire ring, pavilion, picnic tables, playgrounds, and restrooms.

The people who are visiting the place can find more things to do such as fishing, Hiking/Walking, Horseback riding, Picnicking, and wildlife watching. People can visit the park from the morning at 9 o’clock to night at 11 o’clock. It is the best place for doing any exercise and also spending leisure time in full calmness and pleasant environment.

Over the years, there have been great changes in the park, including the girl’s softball complex, with the proper playground. In the year 2006, Boo Boo’s dog park is present in the east direction of this softball complex. This place is about 2.5 acres. The preserve and nature center was opened in 2008. These two places have become famous for enjoying Southlake’s natural habitat beauty. The park is named after Bob Jones.

For over 50 years, this Jones family lived in Southlake doing the livestock auction business. The livestock auction is present in Texas 114 and White’s Chapel Road. His sons launched a tiny café in the year of 1949. Going for the family trip will be good for the people as they will explore the four trails like biking, running, and others. It is the best place for children, adults, teens, and family members to explore a lot of the playing areas and relaxing places.
