Established in 2008, with a brewing Heritage that dates back to 1800, Franconia Brewing Company is more than just a local brewery, it is the essence of true Bavarian brews. By combining the local accessibility to North Texas with our German/heritage/history, we are able to provide the fine people of North Texas with a taste of some of the most genuine and freshest Bavarian beer available.
Franconia Brewing Company not only delivers the freshest brews to your favorite restaurants, pubs, taverns, and local stores, but we also have adopted many GREEN practices to help improve the environmental concerns in North Texas. Such measurements as recycling our mash into local cattle feed to operating in a state-of-the-art energy-efficient building. By being local to the North Texas area emissions from delivery trucks are also minimized.

Franconia founder and former owner Dennis Wehrmann come from a family with real brewing history. Born in the midst of Bavaria, he grew up in an area surrounded by several historic breweries. After moving to the U.S. with his wife in the late 1990s, he spent four years working for Two Rows until the first step was taken to fulfilling a life-long dream of opening his own brewery.
Core Beers
- Dunkel – Dark and smooth. A true Munich Dunkel.
- Wheat – A large proportion of wheat relative to malted barley. Subtle overtones of banana and cloves. A Bavarian favorite.
- Silver Star Bock – A clear, amber beer with a malty and toasty overtone. A Texas favorite that finds its origins in Bavaria.
- Kolsh – This style comes from Cologne, Germany. Our Kolsh is fermented with ale yeast but then finished in cold temperatures like a lager. This Franconia favorite is crisp, clean, and refreshing.
Brewery Visits and Tours
Weekend tours with tastings are offered at this local brewery known for its Bavarian-style beers. Scheduled brewery tours are every Saturday at 11 am. Only one tour starts at 11. Takes about 2 hours. For only $5 per person, you will learn all about our beer brewing process, experience firsthand that brewing beer is work and fun at the same time, and get free samples of our different beer varieties.
