Stewart Creek Park – The Colony, Texas

Stewart Creek Park is a 65-acre recreational park located along the shoreline of Lewisville Lake. It features a large playground area, basketball court, a pavilion available for rental, picnic tables, BBQ grills, sand volleyball, a swim beach area, a fishing pier, restrooms, a three-lane boat ramp with courtesy dock, tent, and RV camping, and plenty of parking. Check with the gate attendant upon entry for information regarding the complimentary life jacket rental program.

Stewart Creek Park is a very nice park operated by the City of The Colony. The park has many activities available including a nice beach area, some horseshoe pits, beach volleyball, camping areas, and a hiking trail. There is also a nice restroom on site. 

Amenities

Stewart Creek Park boasts a wealth of amenities for visitors to enjoy. In addition to creature comforts like picnic tables, restrooms, and plenty of parking, the park offers everything you need for a day at the lake. Prepare meals on barbeque grills located near picnic tables, and keep the whole family entertained with a sand volleyball court and two playground areas. When it’s time to get in the water, head to the swimming beach and its sandy shores to cool off. Daily admission to the park is only $15 with discounts for residents and annual permits available.

Entry

Stewart Creek Park is a paid entrance park. A daily permit can be purchased at the park, and annual permits can be purchased either at the park or at the Colony Recreation Center. The daily permit receipt should be displayed on your vehicle dashboard at all times. Annual permits are not valid for special events held at the park. Proof of residency is required to receive resident discounts. ONLY credit card payments are accepted at Stewart Creek Park. If you’d like to purchase an annual permit using cash or check, you can do so at The Colony Recreation Center during normal business hours.

Fishing

Lewisville Lake is home to a variety of fish including largemouth bass, spotted bass, striped bass, white crappie, and catfish. In Texas, fishing can be enjoyed year-round. The park’s new 3,000-square-foot fishing pier offers an open-air space for 150 people with both covered and uncovered extensions over the water. With a valid permit, most fish caught in the freshwater lake can be bagged.

What to know before you visit the Park:

  1. Stewart Creek Park is a fee-paid park. Daily entrance fees are $10/car for The Colony residents and $15/car for non-residents. Annual passes are also available for $40 for The Colony residents and $75 for non-residents.        
  2. Park hours are 7 am – 9 pm from March – October, and 7 am – 7 pm from November – February.
  3. No glass containers are allowed in Stewart Creek Park.
