The Vaquero Story
Established in 2001, Vaquero occupies 525 acres of what was once the Hunt brothers’ Circle T Ranch in Westlake, Texas. Discovery Land Company purchased the ranch and developed it into an intimate, utterly private community.
The secluded property features rolling hills, a newly renovated and expanded 42,000-square-foot Club House, and a golf course designed by Tom Fazio.
Westlake is one of the most sought-after communities for residents, businesses, and visitors alike. It is also home to Westlake Academy, which is built on the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum which stresses inductive learning and was named #37 in the nation by U.S. News & World Reports.

Vaquero Golf – A Defining Experience
Golf is the core of the Vaquero member experience with a spectacular private course created by world-renowned designer Tom Fazio. The course features a classic, playable design that makes artful use of the rolling terrain, shady oaks, quiet ponds, and unique sand bunkers.
This easy-to-walk Par 71 course is designed to gratify golfers of all levels. Players with higher to moderate handicaps enjoy the picturesque fairways, while those hitting from the championship tees find themselves considerably challenged.
Our expert staff, including an agronomist, meticulously maintains Vaquero’s Bentgrass greens and Zoysia fairways year-round.
