The Andy Brown Park East and West was Built for the City of Coppell

The Andy Brown Park East and West project, built for the City of Coppell, includes the restoration and new construction of a 60-acre municipal park addition to the existing park campus located in Coppell, TX. The facility supports two park areas, East and West, and supports athletic fields, playgrounds, and event venues for public use. The park addition was constructed on a foundation of slab-on-grade concrete with structural sides and a steel and concrete masonry unit block structural frame.

A brick exterior with a shingle roof completed the construction. The project also featured a four-plex baseball complex, 13 soccer fields, a playground, a basketball pavilion, and hiking trails in addition to a channel connecting two bodies of water, three event pavilions, and a boardwalk overlook. Due to CORE’s project management coordination, the Andy Brown Park East and West project was completed while the hiking and park trails in the West area remained open with minimal disruption to park operations.

Andy Brown East Park is a very large outdoor playground with TONS of shade trees. Kids love this park because it’s huge and there’s SO much to explore. Inside the almost fully enclosed playground, there are lots of different winding paths, steps, and turrets. Other areas include rock climbing walls, many slides, tire swings, tunnels, swings, and monkey bars. A little music section in the center of the main playground is also a fun, interactive addition.

“Tot Lot” for ages 2-5

For moms with little ones, there’s a nicely designated “Tot Lot” for ages 2-5, with 3 baby swings. It is attached to the older kids’ area so you can easily keep an eye on them too and has safety rails throughout most of it so you don’t have to worry about them toppling off many edges. It is very stroller and wagon accessible as well.

The outdoor bathroom facility is its separate brick building off to the side. It’s easily viewable from the park and within walking distance, but not attached to the playground.
