Gear up and Start your Decorations and Party Supplies

Remember to get creative and have fun with your Fast & Furious party decorations. Your guests will love the high-speed atmosphere you create.

As always, consider your child’s age, likes/dislikes, hobbies, the season, and, your venue, when planning for decor. If you are having the party at your private home, you have all the flexibility you need when it comes to hanging ribbons and banners, or having larger pieces throughout the space. If you rented a party venue, just make sure to ask the employees what you are allowed to bring in and what they already provide to you. Here are also fun ideas you can add to your Fast & Furious decorations.

  • Checkered flag banners: Decorate the party area with black and white checkered flag banners and streamers for an authentic race car vibe.
  • Race car table settings: Choose race car-themed plates, cups, and napkins for guests to enjoy party treats. You can also use checkered tablecloths and placemats to complete the look.
  • DIY racetrack: Create a DIY racetrack using black butcher paper or a large black tablecloth. Use white tape or paint to create the racetrack lines and add toy race cars for interactive decoration.
  • Race car centerpieces: Create centerpieces using toy race cars, checkered flags, and traffic cones. You can even add some mini trophies for an extra touch of racing fun.
  • Pit crew station: Set up a pit crew station where guests can create their own race car driver’s license and decorate their own toy race car or cardboard box car.
  • Customizable race car banner: Create a customizable race car banner by stringing together checkered flags and adding letters to spell out the birthday child’s name or a special message.
  • Photo booth backdrop: Set up a race car-themed photo booth backdrop using checkered flags, racing tires, and other racing paraphernalia. Provide props like racing helmets, sunglasses, and toy trophies for guests to pose with.
  • Racing tire balloon garland: Create a racing tire balloon garland by inflating black balloons and using a white paint pen to draw tire treads on them. String the balloons together and hang them around the party area.
  • Traffic cones and barriers: Use mini traffic cones and barriers to create an obstacle course or direct guests to different party stations.
  • Race car-themed treats: Serve race car-themed treats like car-shaped cookies, cupcakes with checkered flag toppers, and a race car-shaped cake.

Refueling Station

A large race is sure to make the kids and guests hungry! The food and treats you provide should complement the racing theme and decorations. Consider what time of day your guests will be eating, as well as if the food will be consumed solely by children or adults. The food you serve at your race car-themed party has the potential to set the tone for the entire event. Paired with clever labeling and decor to match, the food can really rev your guests up for a good time.

If you only have small children to feed, brownie “stoplights,” “racing fuel” juice boxes or dipstick pretzels are all good options. They’re tasty and go with your concept.

Fast & Furious Party Food is fairly easy to create, it can be themed to cars or even road ideas. Check out a few fun ideas below:

  • Pit Crew Drinks – As your guests enter the party, offer them a race-worthy beverage. One simple option is to print out adhesive checkered labels to stick onto water bottles.
  • Nuts and Bolts – Simply a bag of Chex Mix and added to it was Cheez-Its, Frito Twists, and pretzels.
  • Traffic Lights – Three bowls filled with fruit in the color of a traffic light is another idea. You can use strawberries, mango, and green grapes.
  • Racer Burgers – Fuel your party guests with some ‘racer burgers’. The racing flag toppers perfectly complete the look.
  • Steering Wheels – The ‘steering wheel’ wraps are such a great savory food idea for your race car party. Fill them with some veggies and a healthy spread and cut them small for an easy grab.
  • Fruit Cups – Keep it healthy and make fun fruit cups made with ice cream cones and a selection of fruits.
  • Race Car Cupcakes – Bake your own or have them custom made these race car cupcakes are a must at your party.
  • Fast & Furious Cake Pops – Race car cake pops with gearbox decorations are a simple yet very cool idea.
  • Engine Dipsticks – Consider serving carrot and celery sticks with a dip-like ranch salad dressing.
  • Fast & Furious Grilled Cheese Sandwiches – Cut the sandwiches into bite-sized shapes using small cooking cutters that fit the race theme. Shapes like cars, flags, or stars would be fun options.

Fast and Furious Drift Games and Activities

We have listed a few race car theme party games that are fast, furious, and fun! So take your pick from the race car party games below and be prepared for a racing good time.

Stoplight balloon pop relay

  • Blow up as many balloons as you have party guests. To follow the theme, use stoplight-colored balloons in red, yellow, and green.
  • Have the children form two lines, with each being a team.
  • Place enough balloons for each team in separate piles at the other end of the yard.
  • When the race starts, one member of each team must race across the yard, take a balloon from their pile, and sit on the balloon until it pops.
  • Once the balloon has been popped, they can race back to pass off the relay to another team member.
  • The first team with all racers to cross the finish line wins.

Find the Flag

  • Teams must race to find the checkered flag.
  • Depending on the kid’s ages, give them clues/rhymes as to where it might be.

Conquer the Cones

  • Create 2 lines (with a few twists and turns) using traffic cones.
  • If you can’t get a hold of any cones, make some by wrapping orange and white crepe paper around any suitably shaped object such as an upturned waste paper basket.
  • Also, place a checkered flag on the ground equidistant from each team.
  • The teams are each given a tennis ball and bat.
  • With the ball on the ground, they have to push it around the course using the bat and then back again.
  • Once each team member has had a turn they then race to grab the checkered flag.
  • The first team to get the flag wins.

Race car derby

  • Provide each child with a toy race car, such as a Hot Wheels car or a Windup car.
  • Have them line up behind the starting line and point their car toward the finish line.
  •  At your signal, they’re allowed to give the car only one push. Some cars may go off track completely, but that’s part of the game!
  • The car that crosses the finish line first is the winner.

Hot Wheels

  • Split the kids into teams and give each team a rubber tire.
  • Pick a size and weight that is suitable for the ages of the kids.
  • Each team player takes it, in turn, to push their tire along a marked track and back again.
  • The first team to finish wins.

Musical Pit Stop

  • This game is similar to musical chairs. In advance prepare a number of different colored flags (4 or 5 will do).
  • Place these around the room and on the floor mark out an area with chalk, cushions, or tape. Don’t make it too big.
  • Put on music and get the kids dancing.
  • When the music stops, shout out a color such as “Yellow Pit Stop” and all the kids have to rush over to that area.
  • The last one to get into the colored area is out.
