Hard Eight BBQ is a family-owned and operated business that was started by the late Phillip Nivens and his wife Vicki, along with his son-in-law Chad Decker and wife Carie.
The first location opened in 2003 in Stephenville, Texas. The Hard Eight Family enjoys sharing what they love; a fun atmosphere, delicious food, and some good ‘ole southern hospitality. Hard Eight is an authentic eating experience where you will be served “Texas Style” straight from the pit by the Pit Master who prepared your food.

Hard Eight BBQ is known for much more than just BBQ. Other favorites include the 2” pork chop, hand-cut 16 oz. ribeye served with onions, and their famous prime rib, cut to order.
The Hard Eight family enjoys sharing what they love; a fun atmosphere, delicious food, and friendly, “Texas style” service. Preparing delicious meals for families dining in, or for those who wish to take their food “on the go”, is also something they take pride in. Hard Eight restaurants host live music on their patios every Friday and Saturday evening.

At Hard Eight, you won’t see a hostess at the entrance, nor will you have a waiter. You will be served right by the person who has prepared your food. Their pit masters serve you fresh, hot food, right from the pit. And, you are served fast.
